What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is the idea that brains are naturally different, and that these differences shape how people think, learn, and experience the world. Just like we celebrate diversity in culture, personality, and talents, neurodiversity celebrates the variety in how minds work.
Some people are neurodivergent, meaning their brains work in ways that are different from what is considered typical. This can include, but is not limited to:
- Autism
- ADHD
- Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia
- Down syndrome
- Other cognitive or neurological differences
Neurodivergent individuals often have unique strengths, perspectives, and problem-solving approaches. Recognizing and supporting neurodiversity helps create environments where everyone can thrive—valuing differences instead of trying to “fix” them.
